Your central heating system can help prevent illness and allergies
With the flu season upon us all and giving respect to those among us that have children in school, we all know what that means….Just that many more germs floating around in the home. Every year we predict it and some of us on most years will even prepare for it with the flu shots but nearly none of us do anything to disinfect the air in our homes. We clean surfaces and we clean our hands…. Well maybe we do not clean our hands enough. But as far as our air we rely on the old open window and that does not work very well during cold weather.
What would surprise most people is that there is a relatively inexpensive device made specifically to kill those nasty airborne germs and lots of other nasty stuff as well. Matter of fact it can kill anything organic if exposed long enough. Fortunately for us those little nasty cold and flu causing critters are zapped pretty quickly and rendered harmless.
These devices will make a huge difference in the spread of illness in your home. The device is simply a light fixture that is installed inside your cold air return duct or if you have air conditioning or a heat pump it can be installed inside the indoor evaporator coil case. It uses ultra violet light or UV rays to kill many common forms of organic matter suspended in your homes air including rhinovirus (colds), influenza (flu) and even common bacteria. It also is very effective at killing mold and mold spores which are very common air borne pollutant in every home.So if you are looking to improve your homes indoor air quality or just want to improve your child’s allergy symptoms for instance this is definitely something you should look at installing on your HVAC system for your home or even your business.

your Gas Furnace is an older gas furnace (usually 10 plus years old) it
may have a standing pilot light like a water heater, if this is the
case carefully follow the instructions on the furnace to light the
pilot. Some models have an intermittent pilot light or spark ignition

your gas heating furnace system is important both to help make the
system last longer and to help keep the operating costs as low as
possible. All furnaces should be cleaned and inspected annually and

provide a voltage signal to the furnace heating unit. The thermostat can
